Monetize Your Skills Profile.

Derive Maximum Value for Your Skills

Get paid when others show interest in your Skills Profile.

Your skills are your most valuable asset β€” just like a musician gets paid when someone plays their music, you should get paid when someone wants to engage with your profile.

Monetization on MySkillsPlus is designed to:

  • Help individuals earn from their skills

  • Bring seriousness and intent to the hiring process

Provide valuable insights into how skills are valued in the marketplace

The Monetization Process β€” Step-by-Step

1. Create Your Skills Profile

Your Skills Profile is your professional identity.
It’s structured using the 6D Framework and reflects your skills across all relevant dimensions.

2. Add Your Background Profile & Work Preference

Once your Skills Profile generates interest, hiring managers will want to know more about your:

  • Education
  • Work experience
  • Projects
  • Work preferences (e.g. full-time, remote, flexible roles)

Your Work Preference is public.
Your Background Profile (PBP) is private and only shared after someone pays the Background View Fee (BVF).

Note: You must complete your PBP to participate in monetization.

3. Set Your VSP (Value of Skills Profile)

This is your self-declared value per hour, irrespective of your current salary or job.
VSP helps:

  • Reflect your aspirational worth

  • Benchmark yourself with others

  • Give employers a sense of what you consider fair value

Everyone sets VSP in hourly terms for standardization.

4. Set Your BVF (Background View Fee)

This is the fee recruiters must pay to access your PBP.

  • You set this value

  • You can price it competitively (even $0), or premium based on niche skills

  • Low BVF β†’ wider interest; high BVF β†’ niche targeting

  • Avoid setting it to zero to maintain seriousness

Over time, MySkillsPlus will help you understand:

  • What fee levels attract most views

What employers are willing to pay

5. Set Your PCF (Personal Contact Fee)

Your PCF is the fee someone pays to get your name, phone number, and personal email.

  • You control this fee as well

  • Helps ensure only serious outreach attempts are made

6. Profile Discovery & Comparison

Hiring Managers and Recruiters can:

  • Discover Skills Profiles anonymously via search

  • View Work Preferences, VSP, BVF, and PCF

Compare these across candidates before making a decision

7. When Recruiters Take Action: Payment Process

  • When interested, a recruiter pays your BVF

  • You receive a notification (email + dashboard)

  • You review their Job Profile and decide to:

    • βœ… Accept (you earn 80% of BVF)

    • ❌ Decline (give reason; they get a refund)

  • Same process applies for PCF

Note: You must take action within 15 days or the offer lapses and the fee is refunded.

How Payments Works

  • International Users: Paid via Stripe directly to your bank account

  • Indian Users: An alternate payout mechanism will be provided
  • A verified payment account is mandatory to participate in monetization

FAQs

Do I need to link a payment account?

Yes β€” monetization is not enabled unless a valid payout account is connected. This also ensures profile authenticity.

Do I get paid automatically when someone pays BVF/PCF?

Not immediately. First, you’ll be notified.
You must accept or decline the opportunity.
Only after accepting, the payment is released to you.

How much do I earn?

You receive 80% of BVF/PCF.
MySkillsPlus retains 20% as platform fee β€” used to improve services and visibility for all users.

Final Thought
